MOSCOW, Apr 15 (PRIME) -- Russia could nationalize assets of Western companies if the West starts seizing assets of Moscow in their countries, Konstantin Kosachev, deputy speaker of the parliament’s upper chamber Federation Council, said in an interview to Govorit Moskva radio station broadcast on Friday.
“If this is the policy of the West toward Russia, then Russia will have to act in the same way,” he said.
Investment that stayed in Russia and assets of Western companies that left the country could be transferred to Russia’s ownership if Moscow understands that there are no other options for talking with the West. These actions of the West are illegal, he said.
